Plus, Tony Todd left Axanar four months ago and the Axanar team provided no official acknowledgement of that, AND they had previously claimed that Garratt Wang was a cast member even though he never officially agreed to be in it. As for what I think about the lawsuit in and of itself initially I had sympathy for them, but when I saw how Alec Peters was reacting to it all, they quickly lost any and all of my support - not only is there the somewhat childish "I Stand With Axanar" campaign, but Alec Peters was also unnecessarily lashing out at other people, calling Tony Todd illiterate and accusing Vic Mignogna of being a hypocrite. It's such a shame you're having to cancel the Axanar mod I was probably looking forward to the mod more than I was looking forward to the actual film. If that is true, if they really want to do star trek good, they should seek for a peaceful solution and try to get things right with cbs, before it's too late. Axanar always claimed to do something in the best interest of the fans. And most, by far, most people answered, that they hope that cbs and axanar will come up with a deal to work together instead of just saying "i stand with axanar." It seems that most people don't want to try to simply fight back. There was a poll the other day, about what people think about this conflict. maybe that might even be the most profitable choice for cbs. I think generally, it would be in the best interest for everybody, finish this project together.
But that should be a goal for both: the team of axanar aaand the team of cbs.
I think the idea behind axanar is generally a good one and I think it would be a great loss for star trek if that movie will never be made. If that is true, and so far, I have no particular reason to think that they are lying, I think that it is a bad decision to sue them directly, before trying to make a deal. So far, the producers of axanar always said, that they did seek the dialogue with cbs and tried to get their approval, wich never suceeded. I still don't see a reason why cbs would wait so long to sue them. But, Axanar never kept it a secret what their goal was. But, as said in the video, they have a goal that is conflicting with cbs and paramounts interests directly and that those two sue axanar for that, is justifiable. Their vision of Star Treks history and the way they want to recreate it, is truly impressive. Axanar is a project that delivered great content and service to the fans so far.
